We are now offering our workshop “Planning Like A Pro” one-on-one!

Because we will be doing single sessions, the catered lunch or dinner will not be offered so take $25 off the fee making the cost a VERY affordable $275.  The valuable piles of information and documentation that you will receive is what we usually save for our “Day-of” and Classic Package clients who pay anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000.  The coupons and discounts that you will receive from our Preferred Vendors will total more than the cost of the class.  Take it from Nancy and I who have been in the industry for a combined total of 43 years, it is better to be prepared from the beginning for all of the little details that will encompass you and your life during the planning process.

Just call Michelle at (512) 267-4544 to schedule a session that works for both calendars.

Packaging For Your Wedding Favors

13 November, 2007 (20:59) | Favors, Weddings, Bridal & Wedding Products | By: admin

Attractive packaging for your wedding favors is everything.  Now & Forever has Polka Dot Take Out Boxes, Pyramid Boxes, Popper Style Favor Boxes and a unique hexagonal shaped box that I just love.  The Italian Saccheto bag is great too! My all time favorite is the bright colored fortune cookie favor that can be personalized for your wedding or event, choose the flavor and color, I want to try them all.  Rexcraft has a textured 2 piece favor box that is available in black, ecru and mocha, it’s a little pricy but very elegant.  If you love it as much as I do but feel it cost too much maybe think about doing a special favor for the guests at the head table and choose something lower priced for the other guests.  JeanM has an extensive collection of colorful favor boxes, bags and tins check out the sleek black box or the colorful square favor boxes with the embossed hearts.  Hanson & Ellis has some great selections such as their personalized chop Stix’s, Origami Fortune Cookies and the herbal tea-licious bag.  My wedding Favors has a wonderful selection too.  I do love their monogrammed clear acrylic box and the brown snap favor box.  There are so many to choose from and I want them all!  Then when you are ready to fill those luscious little boxes check out Lake Champlain Chocolates for the most wonderful chocolate ever.  You can purchase their Ballotin Box favors with the distinctively designed gold gift boxes already filled with goodies.  Chocolate Source offers unique personalized wedding favors filled with Belgian chocolates of your choice

So, do your guests a favor, choose with care, beautifully presented, thoughtful favors will go home with each of your guests, appreciated, enjoyed and remembered with affection and will always remind them of the experience they had on your special day.  They will know without a doubt that you meant it when you said “Thanks for sharing our day”.

A Wedding at the Historic Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas

12 November, 2007 (19:12) | Catering, Favors, Wedding Gowns, Wedding Planner, Weddings, Bridal & Wedding Products | By: admin

Allison’s Events had the pleasure to produce a wedding November 10, 2007 at the  beautiful St. Mary Cathedral  in downtown Austin, Texas.  The Cathedral is located at Brazos Street and 10th Street and if you haven’t seen the interior of this beautiful church you will want to take the time to step inside the next time you are downtown.  It is a historic treasure and is breathtakingly beautiful both inside and outside so, as you can imagine, it was the perfect setting for an elegant wedding.  The bride wore a classic formal strapless Wedding Gown with a full skirt of layered tulle and was walked down the isle by her beautiful mother.  There were eight bridesmaids in full length ruby red bridesmaid dresses and eight groomsmen in traditional Tuxedos.  The reception followed the ceremony in the Victoria Room in the historic Driskill Hotel.  The tables were dressed in Gold Damask linens, gold charger plates and floral centerpieces with white roses and red rose petals sprinkled on the table.  There were Guest Favors at each place setting of gold and red M&M’s tied with a delicate red ribbon.  The guests danced the night away till midnight and bid the bride and groom goodbye as they were whisked away in a horse drawn carriage.

Wedding Favors Your Guests Will Appreciate

12 November, 2007 (16:52) | Favors, Weddings, Bridal & Wedding Products | By: admin

Brides spend so much money, time and effort on choosing just the right Wedding Favors for their wedding but how many times have you been to a wedding and noticed all the favors left behind?  It really doesn’t need to happen that way.  When choosing your favors follow your theme and choose vibrant, eye catching, bright colors, unusual patterns and unexpected package shapes, then fill them with goodies that appeal to your guests.  Chocolate Favors, candies, soaps and candles are always appreciated.  Food is always a hit with guests, who doesn’t like to eat!  Items that will be useful are always a great choice.  Bottle stoppers, wine openers, cork screws and picture frames are just a few ideas of items that are useful.  When you choose a guest favor remember that this can be big way to say thank you for a small price and make it say so with enthusiasm, your guests will remember your wedding every time they see or use your favor and they will feel appreciated too.

Allow Your Wedding Consultant To Be Your Go-To Person

Many brides and grooms believe that they can manage easily without a wedding coordinator and, yes, there are certain people that do well without hiring one.  There are equally as many that need to hire one.  Remember there is no rewind button, no practice runs on your wedding festivities and after all the planning and money spent you don’t want to miss your own wedding because you are too involved to relax and enjoy the party.  Planning your own wedding could mean unnecessary stress which would have been avoided with a wedding coordinator involved.  Do you want to be the go-to person at your own wedding and deal with every little issue that pops up?  Don’t be one of the hundreds of newly married couples that wish they had hired a coordinator if they had it all to do over again.  The hundreds of details such as invitations, favors, wedding gowns, beautiful hand bags and jewelry are all put into perspective when you hire a professional to help you and your wedding will run smoothly so you can relax.
